Today we will cover the capture page which is one of the most essential elements of lead generation. Let’s face it, if there is no capture mechanism then there are no leads, no matter how much traffic you send at it.

I’ll make a training later on how I make a really quick and simple capture page in under 5-10 mins from start to finish.

Capture Page Elements For Internet Lead Generation

1) Headline

Your headline is often the first thing that people will see and it is often the make or break point for your internet lead generation. Your headline needs to be concise, to the point and…

Curious.

Yes, curious. You need to instill curiosity if you want leads. Think of your capture page like a night club. You have those blackout windows, music blaring to the streets, and a line around the block.

If you are walking down the street and you see all that going on you get curious and want to see what’s inside. Then all of a sudden you are waiting in line and handing your money to the bouncer.

On the other hand, if the music was still blazing with a line going around the block but you could see inside the club then you wouldn’t need to wait in line. You would just peek in see if it was for you and just keep walking without anyone ever knowing you were there.

You need your headline to be that night club with the black out windows.

People see it and want to know what is going on inside, so they opt-in and BOOM! You just generated yourself a lead.

The more contact info you ask for the less leads you will have. That is the general rule. Unfortunately, there is a price to pay for more leads, as you will have less contact info and you will have to be better at converting them.

What you ask for depends more on your goal. If you are a phone guy and you need to make something happen TODAY… then it’s worth having less leads if that means you get a phone number.

If you are good at making funnels and conversions then maybe all you need is the email. It depends on what your specific goal is and what your strengths are. Don’t worry, if you aren’t good at making converting funnels then you can always use pre-made ones like in MLSP until you can make your own.

Misconception About Capture Pages And Lead Generation

Misconception: The fancier the page the better your internet lead generation

Not always the case. Sometimes simple pages with only a headline and place to enter your information convert better than pages with pictures and videos. The only way to know for sure is test and track.

The thing that you have to do if you want to get the most leads possible is test and track your capture pages. This may sound crazy but even changing one word in your headline can increase your leads by over 20% in some cases.

One of the things that I did for lead generation when I first got started was use pre-made capture pages. Then I learned more and got more tech savvy then I began to make my own. Don’t let technology stop you in the beginning. You can always leverage someone else’s work while you learn.
